Kosciuszko Foundation Participates in the XIII Congress of the Polish Medical Diaspora in Wroclaw

The Kosciuszko Foundation was pleased to participate in the XIII Congress of the Polish Medical Diaspora, held in Wroclaw, Poland, on September 10–12, 2026. Organized by the Federation of Polish Medical Organizations Abroad, the Congress brought together physicians, researchers, and medical professionals from Poland and Polish communities around the world under the theme “Medical Innovations and the Good of the Patient.” 

As part of its support for the Congress, the Kosciuszko Foundation sponsored the keynote speakers, Prof. Maria Siemionow and Prof. Robert Peter Gale, internationally recognized leaders in medicine and scientific research. Prof. Siemionow also served as Chair of the Congress Scientific Committee, while Prof. Gale delivered the inaugural lecture, “Mission to Mars: Inter-Planetary Travel, Space Radiations and the Role of Physicians.”

Marek Skulimowski, President and Executive Director of the Kosciuszko Foundation, took part in the session “From Idea to Publication and Grant: Master Strategies of Scientists.” He presented the Foundation’s perspective on preparing successful grant applications and discussed the grant, fellowship, and scholarship opportunities available through the Kosciuszko Foundation to scholars and researchers seeking to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between Poland and the United States. The session also featured representatives of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) and leading researchers from Poland and the United States.

The Foundation was also represented by members of its Board of Trustees. Dr. Krzysztof Lyson and his wife, Dr. Teresa Lyson, as well as Prof. Waldemar Priebe and his wife, Dr. Teresa Szwarocka-Priebe, attended the Congress, further underscoring the Foundation’s longstanding engagement with the Polish and Polish-American scientific and medical communities.
