Born in 1977 into a musical lineage in Warsaw, Michal Drewnowski began his piano journey in Italy at eight, mentored by his father, Marek Drewnowski. He graduated with honors from the University of Music in Lodz. Further studies at the Geneva Conservatory under Dominique Merlet and Pascal Devoyon led to a Master’s Degree with distinction in 2006. Drewnowski’s musical growth includes masterclasses with luminaries and a doctorate in 2014, focusing on the unknown Polish composer Tadeusz Majerski. He uncovered and recorded Majerski’s compositions for Toccata Classics. An award-winning pianist, his performances have graced audiences in multiple countries. Beyond music, he showcased acting talent, portraying Chopin and Paderewski in theatrical productions. Drewnowski’s discography, featuring albums with acclaimed recording companies, has earned praise in musical publications. Drewnowski is an Associate Professor at the Academy of Music in Lodz. Thanks to the Kosciuszko Foundation Exchange to the U.S. Program, he holds a Visiting Professor position at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, Roosevelt University.
