Join us for a compelling lecture with Dr. Katarzyna Maniszewska, a renowned Polish scholar and expert on terrorism, radicalization, and European security. Dr. Maniszewska is affiliated with Civitas University and the University of Bialystok, serves as President of the Alumni Association of the Kosciuszko Foundation, and is the 2025 Fulbright‑NATO Security Studies Award recipient.

Dr. Katarzyna Maniszewska is a scholar and expert in international relations, specializing in security threats and radicalization. She is a member of the Scientific Council of the Terrorism Research Center at Civitas University, a lecturer at Civitas and the University of Białystok, and a guest lecturer at institutions in Poland and abroad, including West Virginia University, the Philippine Public Safety College, and UNJANI – Indonesia Military University. She is an expert of the EU Knowledge Hub on Prevention of Radicalisation. In 2024, she was awarded a research scholarship by the Kościuszko Foundation (at Program on Extremism, George Washington University), and in 2025, she received the prestigious Fulbright-NATO Security Studies Award.

She serves on the Council of the Educational Enterprise Foundation, is President of the Alumni Association of the Kościuszko Foundation, and is a member of professional associations including Women in International Security. Dr. Maniszewska is the author of academic books, including Radicalization at High Speed. Terrorism and the Media in the Age of AI (Civitas Press, 2025) and Towards a New Definition of Terrorism (Springer, 2024), as well as numerous articles. She co-edits the academic series Security and Society in the Information Age and is a reviewer for the journal Terroryzm – Studia, Analizy, Prewencja, published by Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW).

She defended her Ph.D. in 2005 at the University of Warsaw. She holds two Master’s degrees: in Journalism and German Philology from the University of Warsaw, and completed two postgraduate studies in management and in countering organized crime and terrorism, as well as several professional training courses.

Between 2018 and 2025, Dr. Maniszewska served as Vice-Rector for International Relations at Civitas University (formerly Collegium Civitas) and is a recognized expert in internationalization of higher education; in 2025 she was appointed Executive Member of the National Team for the Development of the Strategy for the Internationalization of Polish Higher Education and Science at the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA).
