The movie is a powerful production about three pianists of different nationalities and cultural background, a Syrian, a Korean, and a Pole, preparing concerts of Chopin music in places associated with great suffering: the city center of Beirut, the border between South and North Korea, and the Auschwitz Concentration Camp Memorial and Museum in Poland. The picture takes the viewer on a cinematic journey through these unique and sinister sceneries, while weaving together the stories of these outstanding musicians.
This in an opportunity to watch the movie, Chopin. I am not Afraid of Darkness, in an intimate setting of the KF Washington, DC. The screening will be followed by discussion.
