The movie is a powerful production about three pianists of different nationalities and cultural backgrounds, a Syrian, a Korean, and a Pole, preparing concerts of Chopin music in places associated with great suffering:
- The city center of Beirut
- The border between South and North Korea
- The Auschwitz Concentration Camp Memorial and Museum in Poland
The picture takes the viewer on a cinematic journey through these unique and sinister sceneries while weaving together the stories of these outstanding musicians.
A discussion will follow the screening.
Chopin: I am not Afraid of Darkness received a 59th Golden Prague International Television Festival award in September 2022.
