The Kosciuszko Foundation is thrilled to welcome a globally celebrated bass-baritone, Tomasz Konieczny, for a solo recital promoting his new record “From Secession to Distortion.” Â
Following his stunning Metropolitan Debut in 2019, the bass-baritone Tomasz Konieczny again made headlines with his performance in the title role in “Der Fliegende Hollander,” which opened on May 30.
“This was undeniably one of the best singular performances of the entire Met season (…) Konieczny was so fascinating from the start that, despite all the other incredible performances taking place, you couldn’t wait for him to get back on stage if only to hear him for a few moments.” wrote David Salazar in Operawire
Tomasz Konieczny is one of the most outstanding bass-baritones today, performing at the world’s biggest operatic stages, including the Metropolitan Opera, La Scala, Vienna State Opera, the Bayreuth Festival; an ambassador of Polish culture abroad, an excellent interpreter of Wagnerian characters, winner of many honors and distinctions.
The recital will spotlight music by Richard Strauss,  Mykola Lysenko, Henryk Czyz, and Stanislaw Moniuszko.
