The year 2024 has been declared by Poland’s government a Year of Older Gentlemen’s Cabaret as we commemorate the 40th anniversary of the death of composer Jerzy Wassowski (1984) and the 20th anniversary of the death of the lyricist Jeremy Przybora (2004)

Performers:
Waldemar Izdebski
holds a Master of Arts degree from the Aleksander Zelwerowicz College of Theatrical Arts. He acted in film, television, and theater for six years before moving to the United States. For 35 years, he has participated in various events at the Polish Embassy, the American Center of Polish Culture, and the Kosciuszko Foundation.
In addition to his performing career, he has actively managed cultural events for over two decades. As Program Director of the Jan Karski Institute and the American Center of Polish Culture, he has led numerous initiatives to promote Polish history and culture through the arts. In recognition of his contributions to promoting Polish culture, he was honored with the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland in 2012.
Pianist Martin Labazevitch
has performed at concert halls and festivals around the world. As a soloist, he has collaborated with leading orchestras and worked alongside renowned artists and contemporary composers.
He has received numerous awards in piano competitions, and his performances have been broadcast on major radio stations. In 2015, Dr. Labazevitch released his first commercial recording on Delos Music, which garnered enthusiastic reviews.
A Steinway Artist, Dr Labazevitch is the Artistic Director of the Berkshire Piano Academy in Massachusetts and Kosciuszko Foundation Chopin Piano Competition in Washington DC. An enthusiastic educator, he teaches at the Levine School of Music in Washington DC and at the Paderewski Piano Academy in Zurich, Switzerland.
