Ćukasz Kuropaczewski, âan amiable bear of a soloistâ as the Washington Post portrayed him after one of his performances with the Baltimore Symphony, âis the new megastar of the classical guitar.â (El Nuevo Dia, Puerto Rico)
Ćukasz Kuropaczewski is in great demand as a recitalist and soloist with orchestras, invited to perform in numerous venues around the globe each year. Highlights include appearances in Londonâs Royal Festival Hall, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Warsawâs National Philharmonic Hall, Tchaikovsky Hall in Moscow, the Santa Fe Music Festival, Schleswig Holstein Musik Festival and New Yorkâs Carnegie Hall.
An avid chamber music collaborator, he performs regularly with string quartets, mandolin player Avi Avital, violinist Daniel Hope, countertenor Jakub Jozef Orlinski, pianist Alek Debicz, and accordionist Maciej Frackiewicz.
Ćukasz has inspired many composers to write work for his instrument. He premiered a guitar quintet, âAcequias,â by Marc Neikrug at the Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival, and his âThree Pieces for Guitarâ at the Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore.Â
Ćukasz Kuropaczewski holds doctorates in performance and is currently on the faculty of Kunst University Graz, Austria, and the Academy of Music in Poznan, Poland.
Ćukasz Kuropaczewski was awarded the âMeritorius for Polish Cultureâ medal by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage in Poland in recognition of his distinguished cultural contribution.
The concert at the Kosciuszko Foundation Washington DC is part of a much-awaited return to the United States in the 2024-2025 season, with performances in Baltimore, Philadelphia, Dallas, Fort Worth, Milwaukee, Sandhills, Norfolk, Washington, D.C., and New York.
âKuropaczewski performed with such passion and technical perfection that the audience could only fall in love with him.â
