KF President Visits Chicopee, MA
Kosciuszko Foundation President and Executive Director Marek Skulimowski recently visited Chicopee, Massachusetts, a historically significant center for Polish Americans in New England and the final resting place of the Foundation's founder, Stephen Mizwa.
During his visit, Mr. Skulimowski toured the Polish Center of Discovery and Learning, where he met with the museum’s leadership to explore potential collaborations between the Center and the Kosciuszko Foundation’s New England Chapter. This partnership promises to strengthen the preservation and promotion of Polish heritage in the region.
At Elms College, Mr. Skulimowski had productive discussions with President Harry E. Dumay and Vice President Joyce L. Hampton about expanding the college’s Polish studies program and facilitating the exchange of visiting professors through the KF Exchange to the U.S. program.
Finally, Mr. Skulimowski met with the leadership of the New England Chapter of the Kosciuszko Foundation, further solidifying ties with the local Polish American community and discussing future initiatives.
Chicopee’s rich Polish-American history and vibrant cultural contributions make its local community and institutions essential partners in the Foundation’s mission to promote and preserve Polish heritage in the United States.
