The Kosciuszko Foundation Honored with Poland’s Highest Distinctions
In celebration of its 100th Anniversary, the Kosciuszko Foundation received several of Poland’s most prestigious distinctions. During the Centennial Gala at the Palace of the Republic in Warsaw, Kosciuszko Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Alex Storozynski was awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, while the Foundation itself received the Senate of the Republic of Poland Medal and the Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis.
The KF Honored with the Highest Polish Distinctions

The Senate of the Republic of Poland Medal, presented by Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Marshal of the Senate of the Republic of Poland, honored the Kosciuszko Foundation’s century-long contributions to building mutual understanding and cultural exchange.
The Gold Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis, presented by Deputy Minister of Culture and National Heritage Marek Krawczyk, recognized the Foundation’s extraordinary role in promoting Polish culture abroad.
Honoring a Century of Transatlantic Bridge-Building:
Karol Nawrocki President of the Republic of Poland extended his congratulations to the Kosciuszko Foundation: “On the occasion of the Kosciuszko Foundation’s centennial, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to its past and present staff, benefactors, and grantees. Your initiatives continue to build bridges between two nations — separated by an ocean but united by shared values and a centuries-long friendship.”
“Poland today would be a different country without the Kosciuszko Foundation — and I dare say, a much poorer one,” said Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska, Speaker of the Senate. “The Foundation’s history shows how the Polish diaspora can support the homeland while building lasting relationships in their new home.”
