Marek Skulimowski, President & Executive Director of the Kosciuszko Foundation, nominated for the prestigious Jerzy Giedroyc Award
We are thrilled to announce that Marek Skulimowski, President & Executive Director of the Kosciuszko Foundation, has been nominated for the prestigious Jerzy Giedroyc Award. This distinguished nomination honors his tireless efforts in building bridges between the Polish, Jewish, and Ukrainian communities and his unwavering dedication to public service in the spirit of Jerzy Giedroyc’s values.
In the aftermath of the war’s outbreak in Ukraine, Marek Skulimowski extended his stay in Poland to spend two weeks working on the Ukrainian border alongside Fundacja Folkowisko. His initiatives brought business leaders and philanthropists to the border, resulting in the Kosciuszko Foundation raising nearly $2 million to support Ukrainian refugees during their time of great need.
Established in 2001 by the Rzeczpospolita newspaper, the Jerzy Giedroyc Award recognizes individuals and institutions committed to public service, strengthening Poland’s role in Europe, and fostering dialogue among Central and Eastern European nations.
This year, the award features a remarkable list of 10 nominees, and we proudly extend our best wishes to Marek Skulimowski in this distinguished company.
