Strengthening Cultural and Academic Ties: KF Explores Collaboration with University of Michigan’s Copernicus Center
Marek Skulimowski, President and Executive Director of the Kosciuszko Foundation, recently visited the Copernicus Center for Polish Studies at the University of Michigan. He discussed potential collaborations between the Center and the Kosciuszko Foundation.
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Center brings prominent academic, cultural, and political figures from Poland to the United States to foster a deeper understanding of Poland’s people, culture, and history—closely aligning with the Kosciuszko Foundation’s mission.
Under the leadership of Dr. Geneviève Zubrzycki, Weiser Family Professor in European and European Studies, the Center offers a vibrant program of lectures and cultural events, including the renowned Ann Arbor Film Festival.
During his visit, Skulimowski met with Dr. Zubrzycki to explore potential collaborations between the Kosciuszko Foundation and the Copernicus Center. They discussed how KF scholarship programs—such as the Exchange to the US, Exchange to Poland, Summer Studies in Poland, and Tuition Scholarships could benefit students and scholars eager to expand their academic and cultural experiences. This partnership promises to enrich educational opportunities and strengthen ties between our communities.
“I was particularly impressed by the organization’s programs’ breadth and commitment to promoting Polish culture, language, and history. The work being done at the Center is inspiring, and it is clear that the Copernicus Center is making a significant impact in the community,” said President Skulimowski.
