Wolf Blitzer, Greta Van Susteren, and Jeff Scott Goldman at the KF DC

On May 21, 2023, the The Kosciuszko Foundation Washington DC hosted the opening reception of the art show of Polish Jewish abstract expressionist Helen Ciesla Covensky and her granddaughter Piera Kempner.

The event gathered many esteemed guests, including author, journalist and CNN reporter Wolf Blitzer, television news anchor Greta Van Susteren, or Jeff Scott Goldman, an Emmy award-winning producer and reporter.

Renowned documentary filmmaker Aviva Kempner, the daughter of the late Helen Ciesla Covensky delivered opening remarks. She underlined Covensky’s ties with Poland and her attachment to Polish traditions, which she strived to pass on to her children.

The paintings of Helen Ciesla Covensky are currently on view at The Kosciuszko Foundation Washington, DC until January 31st, 2024 by appointments only. Please email: ieisemann@thekf.org to schedule your visit.
