Featured Speaker: Major Max J. Meinert, U.S. Army
A military officer and historian whose work explores the history of American independence and the relationship between military service and the ideals of liberty. A graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a B.S. in Military History, Major Meinert also holds an M.A. in Public History from Villanova University. He is the author of the chapter “Kościuszko: The Declaration and the People in Arms,” featured in the recently published volume America’s First War: The Military History of the Declaration of Independence (University of Tennessee Press, 2026). His work offers a particularly meaningful perspective on Kosciuszko’s role in the American Revolution and the ideals that united those who fought for American independence.
The Order of the Founders and Patriots of America is a non-partisan, hereditary patriotic society dedicated to honoring America’s early colonial founders and the patriots who carried the cause of independence forward during the Revolutionary War. The society’s core mission centers on preserving American revolutionary history, encouraging civic education, promoting patriotism, and honoring early American history and military contributions. In recognition of America’s 250th anniversary, OFPA-DC is presenting a series of educational and commemorative programs highlighting the international dimensions of the American Revolution and the foreign officers, soldiers, diplomats, statesmen, and allies whose contributions helped secure American independence.
Join us for an evening honoring the shared history of Poland and the United States and the Polish patriots whose legacy continues to inspire generations.
