David Ensor and Joel Seidman are working on a documentary designed to take American television viewers behind the scenes as Poland arms for potential conflict with Russia, in case Ukraine’s deterrence should fail.  From patrolling the Baltic on a Polish minesweeper, to watching civilians training with automatic weapons, to US and even German forces operating Patriot missile batteries defending a secretive airlift hub near the border with Ukraine, the film will reveal how hybrid warfare is dramatically reshaping Europe’s eastern flank, in real time.

Many Americans, the journalists say, simply do not comprehend how dangerous the situation is for frontline states like Poland, as the war drags on. Working closely with the Polish military and NATO,  they propose to help fill that information gap. The filmmakers are currently raising funds for this non-profit production, which will be the second in a series titled “Putin’s Endgame”.

David Ensor is an award-winning veteran TV correspondent and a media leader. For his 2004 CNN film “Warsaw Rising, the Forgotten Soldiers of World War Two,” Ensor was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit by the President of Poland. He is a former director of the Voice of America and a former Warsaw Bureau Chief of ABC News. He and his Polish wife own a house in the Mazury Lake district.

Joel Seidman is an Emmy Award-winning storyteller with decades of experience at NBC News, who has brought television audiences on adventures across the globe: from the rainforests of Central America to helicopter landings on warships in the Arctic, to close encounters with polar bears, to hunting Russian submarines from a U.S. guided-missile destroyer. Seidman produced the film “Putin’s Endgame: The Stakes Beyond Ukraine”, which covered Sweden, Finland, and Estonia’s efforts to protect themselves.
