Wisconsin Study in Poland Scholarship

Each year the Kosciuszko Foundation offers a number of scholarships to American students of Polish descent to take part in Summer Study programs in Polish language at the Jagiellonian University Summer Program in Krakow.

The scholarship covers tuition, a Polish language textbook, accommodation in double room, meals as well as cultural programs.

The Kosciuszko Foundation pays tuition and program fees directly to the Jagiellonian University on behalf of Wisconsin Scholarship winners.

The Kosciuszko Foundation will offer two (2) WISCONSIN SUMMER STUDY IN POLAND SCHOLARSHIPS, which may be used for a 4-week program and a 6-week program at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

There is an application fee of $75.

ELIGIBILITY: The following categories of applicants are eligible to apply for Wisconsin Study in Poland:

  • high school seniors who are 18 by the first day of the program

  • undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors

  • graduate students
  • American citizens of Polish descent

  • legal permanent residents of Polish descent (green card holders)

  • minimum GPA of 3.0 or better

  • resident Wisconsin students
  • non-resident Wisconsin students who attend Wisconsin colleges and universities.

APPLICATION PROCESS For WISCONSIN STUDY IN POLAND SCHOLARSHIPS: 

1. Complete Summer Study Application Form.

Secure the following supporting materials:

  • Photo / Headshot. Acceptable formats for photos include .pdf, .jpg and .jpeg;

  • Official transcripts for the past two years inclusive of the Fall 2025 semester. The transcript may be sent in hard copy format or electronically.

  • Two Letters of Recommendation from teachers or professors with whom you have studied recently.  One of the letters can come from an officer or supervisor of an organization or club in which you are active or for which you volunteer. Letters must be written on university or organization letterhead.

If awarded a Scholarship the winners will be required to submit:

  • Copy of a Medical Travel Insurance card
  • Data Processing Form – EU requirement
  • Final report within 30 days the KF Summer Program is completed.
